VLOG EXCLUSIVE: The Ultimate Parenting Challenge – Mum Vlogger vs Dad Blogger

As a new dad, every day brings new unexpected parenting challenges that complicate your usual routine. From changing nappies in the most unusual of places to trying to find time to shower, eat or just get some essential dad downtime in the bathroom, parenting is by no means a simple job!

So when an old friend – the ace mummy vlogger Emma from Mamalina – convinced me to step out from behind the keyboard and move in front of the camera to record my first ever vlog, it got me thinking…

While all parents face the same daily challenges when it comes to life with a baby, who manages them better? Are mums born with more innate parenting skills or are dads today taking on more and upping their parenting game? If there was a prize for being the ultimate parent, who would win?! Mum or Dad?

Parenting Challenge - Mum Vlogger vs Dad Blogger

And so, without further ado, I’m excited to share with you my first ever vlog, in which I challenged Mamalina to a series of everyday parenting tasks, to see who can do them fastest…mum vlogger or dad blogger? From speed nappy changing to one armed sandwich making, we cover it all…

But who will win? You’ll have to watch the video below to find out!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s blog and my first vlog! As always, we’d love to hear from you, so if you’d like us to do more videos like this, or if you have any ideas for other everyday parenting challenges we should cover next time, do let us know in the comments section below!

Haha! I have a confession…*whispers* I’m mostly not a big fan of vlogs. But I loved this – it was really entertaining! Interestingly, if I’d had to guess who would have won which tasks, I think I would have guessed the way it actually went. Thanks so much for joining us on #FridayFrolics

Brilliant. I have helped many a new parent in the supermarket car park trying to work out how their buggy works. Off to check out Emma’s blog too. Thanks for linking up to #FridayFrolics

Haha! So embarrassed about that one Claire…I really DO know how to work our pram, but the pressures of competition got to me!

I don’t really’get’ parenting vlogs (mostly because I wouldn’t have a clue what to vlog about!) but I love this one!! You should make it a monthly thing and by December you may have a champion!! Definitely always include a one handed challenge (hanging washing out defeated me in early parenthood!) thanks for sharing on #FabFridayPost

Thanks Becky! Great idea! Unlike me, my wife is a total pro at the one-handed parenting tasks…she recently did a whole load of DIY with a babe in arms, which seriously put me to shame…

Oh this was brilliant! Think you could have won but your pram clearly let you down! Blame the tools, always blame the tools 😉 #FridayFrolics

      31st January 2017 / 10:48 am

Ha! Definitely blaming the tools on this one…

Great vlog, had me laughing. Hope you managed to get the pram up eventually! Definitely smashed the carrier challenge though.

Haha…really let the dads down on that one! Damn safety lock!!
