Ah trolls. They really are a special breed of bully. Keyboard warriors of the worst kind, who hide behind the anonymity of their computer screens, posting hateful comments to complete strangers for nothing more than their own amusement.
Until recently, I’ve been lucky enough to avoid the trolls’ gaze on the most part. And yet, the amount of abuse I still see being bandied about by these twisted individuals online (mostly angry men on Twitter but increasingly on Instagram too) never fails to shock me. Which, I guess, is why they do it.
But, after experiencing more than my fair share of bullies growing up, I know that the best way to deal with such antisocial behaviour is to stand up to it.
So I thought I’d dedicate my latest poem to all the trolls, haters and online bullies out there. What you do isn’t big. It isn’t clever. And, frankly, we’ve had enough.
WARNING! It’s quite sweary, so avert your eyes if you have a sensitive disposition…

Dearest Trolls
.
Dearest Trolls
You massive pricks
With tiny dicks
And tiny wits
.
Who spread such hate
With every word
You type
So desperate to be heard
.
From faceless profiles
Tapping phones
Just calling names
And throwing stones
.
Invading
every feed you find
With vile abuse
From vile minds
.
Does it make you feel proud
When something you say
To a total stranger
Ruins their day?
.
Or maybe
You feel like more of a man
To put someone down
Just because you can?
.
I feel sorry for you
That you have such a ball
Going out of your way
To make others feel small
.
But for me, I couldn’t give two shits
About your angry violent fits
That wind up underneath my pics
And prove to me you’re fucking sick
.
Seek help
Or simply scroll on by
Choose love not hate
You’re blocked. Goodbye.
